You can make this flattening process buttery smooth if you are equipped with the right tools.
All edges of carbide inserts can be used. Replace the carbide inserts when needed, instead of replacing the whole bit.

Provide answers to commonly asked questions
Would this bit work on end grain? I need to machine log blanks for a clocks.
Are there any risk if using this bit on a handheld router? what's the difference between the cnc or router bit?
What do you recommend to flatten with hard wood router?
Where are these made?
I still have not recieved it.
This is a great tool aa well as all the others I have purchased as well.
This router bit had no trouble surfacing a slab of 3" walnut. Fast and reliable.
Sharp, cuts fast and true, actually cuts to well. Have to watch the depth of cut as this really wants to take a lot of material.
Used this to flatten a couple of cedar and walnut slabs that were rough milled. Make up a jig, go slow, small thin cuts and you'll end up with a finished surface that requires very little sanding to get to final surface. The replaceable carbides are a HUGE plus. I was a little hesitant at first, and would recommend slowed speeds, it it a large bit after all.
