It was a bit nerve racking because you have to pull the bit out so far leaving the quarter inch shaft to support the bit as you flatten your panel. I took shallow passes and made it through. My nerves are a bit frazzled but it worked.

I shopped for a router lift for months before choosing the SpeTool router lift. None of the other offerings were as versatile or as well made. I needed a way to use a Porter Cable 3 1/4hp router that is 4.2" in diameter, and most of the other lifts could not accommodate this large router. In addition, the SpeTool installation was very simple and straightforward. From the time I unpacked the parts to the time I had the unit in place and ready to use was a little over 1 hour. I installed it in a wing on my table saw using the supplied templates and it fit perfectly. I've been using the SpeTool router lift for several weeks now and I am impressed by how easy it is to operate and how accurate it is in use. Previously, I had a smaller router attached to a plate that had to be removed from the table each time to change bits or when adjustments were needed The SpeTool lift is much easier. I would recommend it to anyone needing an easy to install and accurate router lift at an affordable price.
Iβve been very happy with this SpeTool 60Β° V-groove bit. I use it for CNC carving on wood signs and it cuts very clean, crisp linesβgreat for lettering and detail work. The carbide tip holds up well and stays sharp after multiple projects. For the price, itβs a solid bit and I would definitely buy it again.
