Product Overview

SpeTool Cratos S01001 Router Sled is a precision slab-flattening system designed to help woodworkers accurately level large wood slabs and wide panels using a handheld router — ideal for projects that exceed the capacity of traditional planers.

SpeTool Cratos S01001 PRO Router Sled

Ideal Use Cases

  • Flattening live-edge slabs and oversized tabletops
  • Surfacing epoxy river tables (pre-finish leveling)
  • Leveling wide panels, workbenches, countertops, and doors
  • Small shops & DIY woodworkers who don’t have a wide planer
  • Correcting cupped/twisted stock before sanding and finishing

The Problem It Solves

Problem: Most planers and jointers can’t handle very wide, heavy, or irregular slabs. DIY jigs often take time to build and may flex, causing uneven results.

Solution: The Cratos S01001 provides a stable, repeatable router-sled workflow—so you can remove high spots in controlled passes and achieve a flat surface ready for sanding and finishing, without industrial machinery.

How It Works

  1. Set the rails parallel over your workpiece and secure the slab.
  2. Mount your router to the sled using the included router plate.
  3. Select your cutting height using the preset Z-axis positions.
  4. Make smooth, overlapping passes to remove high spots evenly.
  5. Repeat until the surface is flat, then move on to sanding/finishing.

Pro Tip: Use a surfacing/spoilboard bit and take shallow passes for the cleanest finish and best control.
