No. A planer is faster for uniform boards, but a router sled is ideal for wide or irregular slabs that planers cannot handle.

Yes. The Cratos Pro Router Sled includes two mounting plates: a pre-drilled mounting plate for popular router models and a blank mounting plate for custom drilling. The Festool OF 1400 is not currently included on the pre-drilled plate, but it can be installed using the blank plate. We plan to add more router patterns in future updates.

Most standard routers are compatible using the included plates. A mid- to high-power router is recommended.
