The installation was (relatively) easy. Watched several YouTube videos on how to do it. Old cutter head was not easy to remove. I have only used it for two weekends and love this cutter head. Smooth boards, way less noise and way less bogging down/blowing the breaker when taking passes above 1/16.
I wanted to wait until my planer was out of warranty to replace the cutter head and really wish I hadn't. Overall a great purchase and experience.
My first use was a new custom-built mahogany entry door with an interior profile too proud for door hardware installation. I simply set up the sled to run on the door styles and reduced the profile accordingly.
The top rail of the door was too short to accomplish the routing with the standard setup. I fabricated two pieces of 1/8" aluminum plate to cantilever the router base to extend the reach of the router by 6" to get the job done.
