This clamp is worth the investment. It took away some stress and reduced the number of clamps per glue-up. I make rustic giant wall clocks that are about 36” diameter. These clamps are saving grace!

This is not an inexpensive drill guide, but after looking at the higher end Woodcraft, the Rockler, and all the copies this SpeTool seems the best for what I need without spending a fortune more. It is very solidly build, the action is very smooth, and the third rail does seem to stiffen it up. But the factor that won me over is that the SpeTool has detents for the angle adjustment. You can set it to any angle between 90 and 60, but for common angles you just use the detent - no extra tools to make sure it's the right angle. That alone makes it worth buying. I also bought the fence and between the two this should cover all my drilling needs where it's too large or in situ and I can't use my drill press.
First, Thank SPE Tool for their customer service and quick response. First unit had a quality issue that made it prohibitive to use. The replacement unit did work well and was received well ahead of when I expected it!
