Overview

The Upcut spiral bit is the most popular type of spiral fluted tool. Use for grooving or slotting, for upward chip evacuation, and best finish on the bottom side of the part.  These bits allow for rapid cuts since the tool clears the chips away from the material.

Specially designed to provide an excellent finish. It can be used with handheld, table-mounted, and CNC routers.

The SPE-X new design coating could provide up to 2.5X normal life and a much more smooth cutting edge than others.

Designed for cutting the following materials

  • MDF/HDF
  • Foam Board
  • Hardwood
  • Plastic
  • Softwood
  • Plywood

This Bit Does Excellent Work

It's small and cuts cleanly. I cut slots in roasted maple guitar tops, 1/4-inch thick tops, and the slots are perfectly routed by this bit. It's long enough to cut through the thickness, and does the job easily. Highly recommended.

Excellent small diameter bit.

Very sharp. So far so good. I use these in my CNC in soft woods and keep the speeds and feeds pretty low.

Couldnfind this size in stores.

Bought for my husband who couldnt find this size in stores. Great price. Were ordering another one because he feels for the consistent use of he uses it for, it wont last. Great quality and does the job he needs it to do for his woodworking projects.

good for cutting a saddle slot

I was a little concerned with reading reviews where the bit was already gribulated when the buyer received the bit. I know with Amazon, you can just send it back for a replacement so that's not a big deal.

The bit was nice and sharp. I use it to cut saddle slots for custom built guitars.
see how long it will last
for anybody buying 1/16", I would suggest you buy two in case one borks on you.
